Adriana Groisman was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and studied photography at the International Center of Photography in New York (1984-85). Upon her return to Argentina in 1985 she began working as a photojournalist for Editorial Perfil, a magazine conglomerate. In 1993 she became a photo correspondent for Clarin, one of the world's largest Spanish-speaking newspapers.

She has been affiliated with the international picture agency Contact Press Images since 1989. Groisman's work has appeared in major publications in the USA and abroad; these include The Smithsonian Magazine, The Los Angeles Times Magazine, Newsweek, The Atlantic, Black and White Magazine, Aperture, Sette-Corriere della Sera in Italy and French GEO. Her work is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Fine Arts of Houston.

Groisman's tango work has been exhibited extensively around the world. Her first book, "Tango Never Before Midnight" was published by Editorial Larivière in December of 2004. Adriana Groisman lives in New York and travels frequently to Argentina.
